This February, MOA hosted its annual conference at the Elk Park Event Center in Columbia, Missouri - and what a gathering it was. Two days packed with farmers, educators, researchers, and advocates came together to share ideas, celebrate progress, and dig deep into the future of organic and regenerative agriculture.
This year's conference featured session covering topics ranging from regenerative grazing and organic poultry management to cover cropping on farm fertility solutions and biochar research. Farmers got actionable advice they could take home and implement right away.
A few highlights include:
- Keith Berns' talk on cover crop species for specific needs
- Del Ficke's talk on profitability in regenerative systems.
- A panel discussion on organic certification, featuring farmers and certifiers discussing real-world challenges and solutions.
- Specialty crop strategies and pest management solutions tailored to the Midwest.
Thanks to our partners at the USDA NRCS office and other organizations, producers had direct access to techincal assistance and funding pathways. Attendees also heard from MOA's growing team about what's in store as the organization continues to be growth focused and producer centered.
With expanded programs, new partnerships, and a growing community of passionate people, Missouri Organic Association is more committed than ever to supporting producers in every corner of the state. The 2025 conference wasn't just a meeting - it was a movement.
We are already planning big for next year's conference and several events along the way.
