In partnership with Hiwassee Bio Extractors and Practical Farmers of Iowa, we’re gathering at the Ewing Community Center and then heading to Stark Naked Poultry to see compost extract technology in action.
This isn’t a sit-and-listen event — it’s a see-it-for-yourself day.

Join MOA and Hiwssee on farm at member Andrew Stark’s farm, Stark Naked Poultry.
- We will begin the day at the Ewing, MO Community Center and move down the street to the farm after lunch.

Schedule (tentative):
- 9:30 AM – Doors Open
Come early to grab a drink and a snack provided by MOA. Meet with members of the MOA, Hiwassee and Practical Farmer’s of Iowa (PFI) teams. -
10 AM – Under The Microscope
We will begin our day at the Ewing community center where we will learn about the impact of compost extract on our soil and our crops. We will have the chance to look at compost extract under the microscope to learn what is happening at the cellular level. In addition, Andrew Stark is providing vermiculture compost and Aaron Stark is providing compost from his farm. We will have the opportunity to look microscopically at each of these and do a comparison. -
Noon – Lunch
Lunch in the community center is provided by Hiawassee. You will also have the opportunity to hear about funding opportunities through MOA, and learn more about how both MOA and PFI serves farmers. -
1pm – In the Field
We move down the road to Andrew’s farm – Stark Naked Poultry- See the Hiwassee Extractors in action
- Talk with Andrew about his operations
